>> The “What Batman Movie Did Y’all Watch?” zine is a nonprofit zine, all proceeds will be donated to charity. You can help us decide which charity that is within the interest check>> This zine will be 18+ only, due to the additional NSFW content we are including, all members will be thoroughly vetted to ensure age, and the zine and discord will be heavily moderated.>> After the interest check period has ended and the last few moderator roles have been filled, we will then open contributor applications. Over the course of the next few months there will be several check-ins to ensure that all contributors are remaining on schedule. The goal currently is to have sales open in October, and our fulfillment period in November. This of course is still subject to change.>> This zine has also been divided into both a physical SFW zine, and a NSFW PDF add-on. You will not be expected to contribute to both, but we do still require you to be 18 or older due to the NSFW nature of the content being included.<?>Mod Team/Contact>> Any questions can be directed to our tumblr account @riddlebatzine, or the event pages on Twitter and Instagram when we open for a Q&A in the near future.>> All moderators have been vetted thoroughly and their previous experience moderating researched. To join, please be at least 18 by the time sign-ups close, this is to avoid any complications or potential exposure of mature content to minors. Our reason for this is due to the darker and more mature themes that are generally included within this pairing’s fandom, and thusly the zine.
While the zine is 18+, NSFW content is completely optional. Only those who opt to contribute to the NSFW PDF will be asked to create NSFW content, as we intend to keep the physical copy completely SFW.
Anyone who wishes to join the zine must join during the respective sign-up periods to be included.
>> The main focus of fics must be on the Riddlebat pairing, though other characters are welcome. We would love to see your interpretation of them, whether you stick closely to the new 2022 versions, an older comic/animation/movie run, or even a completely original concept. All versions of the pairing are welcomed.
>> All work for the zine must be new and unshared. WIPs may not be shared publicly on any social media, however, you may share small pieces within the designated channels in the discord server or to fellow zine participants for beta reading/editing purposes.
>> All completed works will be posted to Archive of our Own as part of a Collection after the fulfillment period has ended. Please contact the moderator team if you have any questions or require an AO3 invite.>> We have some limitations on what is or isn’t allowed within the zine, to ensure that it is enjoyable to as much of our fandom as possible. Please read this thoroughly and keep it in mind for your application, as well as when it comes time for concept claims.(To be determined)
If any contributor drops out for any reason, we ask that we are updated immediately. This is to ensure we have sufficient time to find a pinch hitter to fill your spot.
>> Writers and artists who wish to work together ahead of time must communicate this within their applications. Otherwise we will have to option for contributors to collaborate later on.
>> Any participant may sign-up for multiple roles (Writer, Artist, Beta, NSFW PDF, Merch). If you do so, however, you will be held to the same standards as if you were only taking on one role, so please make sure you can complete everything within the given time frame!
>> Having a Discord is required for this zine as most communication will be done through our Discord server. Email and Twitter posts will be supplemental.
>> You must be willing to share your email and preferred contact information with the moderator team. We will only use this information to contact you for purposes of communicating about this zine. After the zine, any personal information shared will be deleted from our records.
>> The Discord server will also have its own set of rules. Violating these rules will result in being removed from the server and the event.
There will be check-ins (detailed below) to track each participant’s progress. Missing two check-ins without explanation will result in removal from the event.

Requirements>> Please note that these are non-negotiable, as all contributors are being held to the same standard. This ensures no one is doing any more or less work than anyone else who has agreed to participate.

Maximum word count: 2500
Your fic must be new and unique, not part of an existing story. You may write continuations later, but for the zine your fic must be able to read as a standalone.
All fics for the event must be beta read. We will be providing beta readers for you, but you must be willing and able to communicate with them and take edits/criticisms.>> Artists
Specs: To be determined
Both digital and traditional art will be accepted. If an artist chooses to do a traditional piece then a high-quality scan must be provided.
For any NSFW art a SFW crop must be provided come time for previews.<?>
Check-In Information
>> During each check-in, a check-in form will be sent out to report your progress. Each check-in’s progress marker is an approximate value of the zine’s minimum requirements. We recognize that everyone works a bit differently so please keep in mind these are recommendations of where you should be on your piece, not hard requirements.

Writers: 10-25% completion, should have a draft and/or begun the fic
Artists: 10-25% completion, basic concept should be sketched out at minimum
Merch: 10-25% completion, basic concept should be sketched out at minimum
NSFW: 10-25% completion, should have a draft and/or begun the fic or basic concept should be sketched out at minimum

Writers: 25-50% completion, significant progress should be made, if you prefer to break it down by numbers we recommend anywhere between a quarter to half way done writing your 2500 max
Artists: 25-50% completion, noticeable progress should be made, if you prefer to break it down by steps than lineart is where we recommend you be
Merch: 25-50% completion, noticeable progress should be made, if you prefer to break it down by steps than lineart is where we recommend you be
NSFW: 25-50% completion, significant progress should be made, if you prefer to break it down by numbers we recommend anywhere between a quarter to half way done writing or lineart for artists

Writers: 75% completion, confirm contact with beta reader, if you prefer to break it down by numbers we recommend being about three quarters of the way done writing your 2500 max
Artists: 75% completion, if you prefer to break it down by steps you should be well into shading the piece by now
Merch: 75% completion, you should be three quarters of the way finished, we will need to get designs sent out sooner than the zine as manufacturing for merchandise can be long at times
NSFW: 75% completion, confirm contact with beta reader, if you prefer to break it down by numbers we recommend being about three quarters of the way done writing your 2500 max or you should be well into shading the piece by now for artists>> Contributor Check-In Four
All Contributors: 100% done or near completion>> Final Edits
All Contributors: Only minor edits should still be done at this point>> Final Check
All works should be finished, no further editing needed, at this point we are merely confirming that we have all files within the drive for our formatting mod to begin work.>> As per our rules, failure to meet two check-ins without explanation will result in removal from the event. Please let a mod know ASAP if you have missed OR will miss a check-in for any reason!
